Bieito Romero, fundador de Luar na Lubre: ‘Many of the songs in our work are inspired by the Costa da Morte’

Bieito Romero

The morning is blossoming on the beach of Caión (A Laracha) and we meet Bieito Romero, founder of the mythical group Luar na Lubre and recently appointed Costa da Morte Ambassador.

Despite the cold, the lack of wind and the sun make the morning pleasant on this north-west facing beach. Caión, the northern gateway to the Costa da Morte, is an ideal place to talk to Bieito, who tells us how the Costa da Morte has inspired his work as a musician for decades.

The sea, nature and tradition are part of the inspiration that has led Luar na Lubre to become one of the most renowned Galician music groups in the world.
