Find out more about Chapel of San Pedro Mártir and Its Miraculous Fountain – Cee

The Chapel of San Pedro Mártir, located in the parish of Pereiriña (Cee), is a small but spiritually significant site on the Costa da Morte. Surrounded by trees and natural beauty, the chapel blends perfectly with its serene environment. It follows the traditional Galician rural chapel style, featuring a rectangular layout, a modest façade, and a bell gable supporting a single bell.

Close to the chapel lies the Miraculous Fountain of San Pedro Mártir, a cornerstone of local faith. According to tradition, its waters possess healing properties, especially for skin and eye conditions. For generations, villagers and pilgrims alike have come to drink from or wash in the fountain, hoping for divine grace and healing through its supposed miraculous powers.

Interestingly, this site marks the first encounter with Cee for pilgrims traveling from Santiago de Compostela on their way to Fisterra, the mythical “end of the world”. The chapel and its fountain are thus more than places of worship—they are spiritual beacons on the path to the ocean.
