City of Agra 2026 in Camelle and Arou will celebrate its 7th edition on 10, 11 and 12 July, in an event that brings together memory, maritime culture and local participation around one of the most remembered episodes in the seafaring history of the Costa da Morte. Under the theme 129 years in memory, this event keeps alive the story of the City of Agra shipwreck and the deep bond that Camelle and Arou have with the sea.
Over three days, the programme will combine a Maritime Fair, guided visits, theatre, music, walking routes, tributes and symbolic acts linked to the shipwreck. The event is organised by the Asociación de Naufraxios Galegos de Camelle and the Concello de Camariñas, with the support of local organisations, turning Camelle and Arou into a living stage for remembrance, learning and community celebration.
The programme includes activities for all audiences and especially moving moments, such as the arrival of the castaways, the mass in memory of those who died, the medal ceremony, the tribute to the shipwreck victims of the Costa da Morte and the closing ceremony with the raising of the lifeboat. A weekend to experience the maritime history of the Costa da Morte from the place where memory, sea and community still meet.
