Find out more about Mexadoira Coastal Cave and Canosa Cliffs

The Cliffs of Canosa, located in the parish of Lires, are one of the most impressive enclaves on the Costa da Morte. They rise steeply over the Atlantic and offer a spectacular landscape where the force of the sea and the rock combine to create a wild and dramatic environment, characteristic of this coastal geodestination.

With a considerable height and almost vertical drops into the sea, the cliffs present a fascinating geology, marked by rock formations that have been sculpted by centuries of marine erosion and the strong winds that whip this coast.

This idyllic scene is starred by a small waterfall known as the “Mixirica” or “Mexoeira“, or “Mexadoira” located right at the tip that receives the same name.
