Find out more about Ría de Lires

The Ría de Lires, located in the parish of the same name, is known for being the smallest estuary in Galicia and for forming a beautiful natural boundary between the municipalities of Cee and Muxía, in the heart of the Costa da Morte.

This enclave is part of the Natura 2000 Network and is recognised as a Site of Community Interest thanks to its high ecological value. It is especially appreciated by ornithology lovers, as it is an area of passage and regular sighting of numerous seabirds, such as grey herons, ducks, cranes and other migratory species.

In addition to its natural wealth, the Ría de Lires is famous for offering some of the most spectacular sunsets in Galicia, and is a must-see on the Camino de Santiago between Fisterra and Muxía, making it an essential stop for hikers, pilgrims and nature observers.
